God strengthens us Sunday by Sunday with His Word and the Means of Grace, including the Preaching of His Word and the Fellowship of Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

This Sunday begins Holy Week, and the Sunday has two emphases. We begin in the Christian Family Center with the Gospel report of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on that Sunday so long ago. Then we process with palms into the Sanctuary, and our attention turns to the Gospel narrative of Christ’s Passion, His suffering and death on our behalf.

The Service Folder contains the entire narrative from St Luke’s Gospel. Various people, including the whole congregation, will read various parts of the narrative. In place of a sermon, each of us will have opportunity to reflect in sorrow and in thanksgiving on Christ’s sacrifice for us.

Fellowship will follow the Service as usual. This Sunday we’ll set aside our ongoing study of what God's Word says about Satan. We’ll use our study time to discuss with one another our responses to the reading of St Luke’s Passion narrative in today’s Service. The narrative, in the Service Folder, will serve as our study guide. The discussion will be available at 10:30 am on the same Sunday morning Zoom link as used for the worship service. You can access this Sunday’s Service Folder directly at this link.

Many of us enjoyed visiting with Pr Robert Stevens and his wife Laurie when they visited. Mt Calvary Congregation officially Called Pr Stevens to be our next full time Pastor. We pray for him and his wife, for his current Congregation, and for our Congregation that God’s Will be done. Because of Pr Stevens’ commitment to focusing his current Congregation on Lent, Holy Week, and Easter Day (17 April), we will not likely hear any decision from him until after 17 April.

May God make it possible for you to join us in person or on Zoom at 9am this Sunday for hearing God's Word and offering prayer, praise, and thanksgiving to God.

If you cannot be among God's people in person this Sunday, you can join us by Zoom.

To join Zoom by computergo to our home page. On the home page, to the right of the photo slideshow, click on “Sunday Worship” and you will be taken directly to the Zoom link.

To join Zoom by phone, call (720) 707-2699. When prompted, enter this number: 581 701 506 ## (including the two pound signs at the end).

The Service Folder for this Sunday can be found at this link. The Service Folder that is also the Bible Study Guide for this week will be there. The Zoom recording of the Service, if successful, will be available to any who ask by email to Pastor.MtCalvaryep@gmail.com and may be posted on the website, depending on availability of space.

In Holy Week our two special services will be on Maundy Thursday, 14 April, at 6 pm, and on Good Friday, 15 April, at 6 pm. No meal will be available before either service. On Maundy Thursday we will experience elements of a Passover Meal, but the ritual foods we will use will not make for a regular meal. On Good Friday we will experience the “Dark Hours” of Jesus’ death. More details will come in other emails before each service and will include Zoom information for whose who choose to worship from home.
