Stewardship

The Bible speaks about God's gifts to us; and sharing the fruits of our labors with God:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Galatians 5:22-23

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this”, says the LORD Almightly, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”  Malachi 3:10

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  2 Corinthians 9:7

This is what Jesus has to say about worldly possessions, as recorded in the first three gospels.  You may also want to read a few verses before and after these:

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?  Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”  Matthew 16:26

“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”  Mark 8:36

“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?”   Luke 9:25

The MCLC Council encourages members to share their time, talent and treasures for the glorification of God. They also update the congregation on opportunities to provide for the sustenance of our church.
